Celebration of WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK, August 2021

Department of Pediatrics, BGS GIMS, Bangalore.

The first week of August has been religiously celebrated as World Breastfeeding Week annually by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA). This campaign to raise awareness and galvanise action with this year’s theme of Protect Breastfeeding - A Shared Responsibility, was celebrated with much pomp and show by the Department of Pediatrics, under the aegis of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP).

The Reception-Area of the hospital was decorated with a sea of hand-made posters that were submitted but the undergraduate students and post graduates of pediatrics. These posters were a marvellous display of creativity and infographics that sensitised the common folk towards the benefits of breastfeeding.
