Awareness Program on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from13th – 17th October 2025 conducted by Department of General Medicine
The Department of General Medicine organized an Awareness Program on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from 13th to 17th October 2025 with the objective of educating participants on essential life-saving skills during cardiac emergencies.
The session commenced with a brief introduction on the importance of timely CPR and its critical role in saving lives during sudden cardiac arrest. This was followed by a pledge-taking ceremony involving students, staff, and community members, reinforcing their commitment to emergency preparedness.
Expert trainers from the Department of General Medicine explained the basic steps of CPR, including:
- Checking for responsiveness
- Calling for help
- Providing chest compressions
- Using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Participants observed live demonstrations on mannequins and then actively engaged in hands-on practice, helping them build confidence to perform CPR effectively in real-life situations. Trainers also emphasized the importance of staying calm, acting promptly, and ensuring personal safety during emergencies.
The program instilled a strong sense of responsibility and awareness among all attendees. To recognize their participation, E-certificates were issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, encouraging continued learning and preparedness.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a powerful reminder:
“Anyone can save a life — just by knowing CPR.”
