Guest Lecture on EVTHS
In the background of Elimination of vertical transmission of HIV and Syphilis (EVTHS) week long campaign, aGuest Lecture was organized by the Department of Community Medicine of BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciencesin collaboration with District AIDS Prevention Control Unit (DAPCU), Bengaluru and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) on 16th of January 2024 in the Demo Room,2nd floor, Department of Community Medicine, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Dr. Deepak Murthy H J, State Director – GFATM Projects, SVYM, Karnataka was invited as a guest speaker. He highlighted on the existing problem of HIV and Syphilis among pregnant women and children in India, its need for elimination of vertical transmission of HIV and Syphilis and also discussed the updated management guidelines of HIV and Syphilis.The session was very interactive and catered to audiences of varied departments which included faculty and Post Graduatesfrom Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, ART and Community Medicine, Interns, Staff nurses and Counsellors.
