World Health day Undergraduate Quiz 2025
On the occasion of World Health Day 2025, Department of Community Medicine conducted Quiz competition for undergraduate students at BGS GIMS under the aegis of IAPSM, Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine. The theme for world health day 2025 is “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”. The event was conducted with the Support of the Management BGS GIMS, Dr.M E Mohan, Dean Cum Principal, Dr. Nirmala C J , Incharge Hod Dept. of Community Medicine. Dr. Zeen Lasvy Oliveira, Senior Resident, Dept of Community Medicine was the Nodal Faculty for the event with active involvement of Post graduate students Dr. Sakala Monika, Dr. Rahul Arekal, Dr. Rahul Sapparada, Dr. Fiona Louis and Dr. Sibi Chakravarthy. The Elimination round was conducted on 02/04/2025 from 10am to 11am in the Dept. of Community Medicine. Twelve teams with 36 students from 3rd year and final year participated and 4 top scoring teams were selected for final round. Final round of quiz was conducted on 07/04/2025 from 10am till 12 pm in lecture hall, Dept. of Community Medicine. The event was inaugurated by faculty, Dept. of Community Medicine. Dr. Zeen Lasvy Oliveira acted as the quiz master, PGs and MSW assisted the quiz. Around 50 undergraduate students and 20 faculty attended the programme. There was very good participation from the participants and also from the audience for audience questions. There were four rounds- MCQ round, Visual round, one word answer round and Rapid-fire round along with tie breaker round. Winners of the quiz were Mr. Aditya Aravind, Mr. Darshan K S, Mr. Amrit Mishra from 3rd year. Winners were congratulated, awarded with certificate and programme was concluded with vote of thanks.
