REPORT ON WORKSHOP ON “START” Supporting Technology – driven Approach to revolutionize training in Community Health Nursing
The Department of Community Medicine, BGSGIMS in collaboration with Association of Public Health technologists successfully organized the Workshop on “Supporting Technology-driven Approach to revolutionize training in Community Health Nursing” at SJB Mini-auditorium, BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru on 12th May, 2025 from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM.
The program was conducted with the support of Dr. M.E. Mohan, Dean/Principal, BGS GIMS and was inaugurated by Dr. Jayashree S Seeri, Professor & Head, Department of Community Medicine, BGS GIMS and Mrs. Gigi Thomas, Principal, BGS GINS. The session was started with an introduction and ethics in AI by Dr. Jayashree S Seeri, followed by Dr. Sudhir, Mr. Sujith Kotnur, Dr. Swaroop N and Dr. Balu PS who were distinguished speakers in this field. Digital storytelling, App related to heart health, NCD continuum of care model and application of AI in the field of nursing were highlighted.
Handson Training in the post lunch session through workshop was effectively delivered that included Breast cancer screening, by Dr. Zeen Lasvy Oliveira, screening for hearing impairment, refractive errors, lung health and heart health by Dr. Balu P S using mobile applications. The event was concluded with a valedictory remark by Dr. M.E. Mohan, Dean/Principal, BGS GIMS in the presence of all the speakers and delegates. The delegates appreciated and were overwhelmed with the sessions and the workshop. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ashwini GS, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, BGS GIMS.
