38th IAP UNDERGRADUATE QUIZ 2025, conducted by Department of Paediatrics on 14th August 2025.
The College round of Paediatrics quiz for Under graduates students is an annual event conducted in Medical colleges under the aegis of Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP). The 38th IAP undergraduate quiz was conducted at BGS Global institute of medical science and Hospital, Bengaluru, Karnataka on 14th August 2025 . This is an annual extravaganza conducted to ignite interest for paediatrics among the young medicos. It was a memorable moment for the department of paediatrics as well as to the institution as this is the ninth round of IAP UG quiz to be conducted in this college. It was an enriching experience for the department of paediatrics, all the staff, post graduates, Interns and Undergraduates to be a part of this academic event.
The venue was hospital lecture hall and the compering for the event was done by Dr. Ashish Mallige. The audience was welcomed by Dr. Purnima Samayam, Prof & HOD of Pediatrics, addressing the dignitaries and HODs of different departments who were present. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Dhanush.V.K
The quiz master for undergraduate quiz for Dr Ashish Mallige, Asst Prof, Pediatrics, who conducted the quiz after explaining the rules and regulations in detail. The quiz experts were Dr Purnima Samayam, Dr. Vinod Muniyappa and Dr. Rohith. H.R
The quiz teams were selected based on the performance in preliminary round conducted previously. Five teams participated in the UG quiz. The participants of undergraduate quiz were final year MBBS students, who showed great enthusiasm and active participation. The quiz was done using PowerPoint slides and proceeded smoothly in seven rounds which included Visual, clinical scenarios and rapid-fire rounds which were monitored by Dr. Rohith H R & Dr. Vinod Muniyappa.
Dr. Dhanush.V.K was the score keeper. Dr Vanitha was the Timekeeper. The audio-Visual round and other technical support were managed by Dr.Ashish Mallige. Ms. Radha and Mr. Manjunath extended excellent support for the smooth conduct of the program. Vinod M and Dr Rohith H R were actively involved in co-ordinating the audience questions at the end of each round. The audience showed active participation with enthusiastic answers for all the audience questions. The keen interest in Pediatrics subject shown by the students was commendable.
The undergraduate quiz was an adrenaline rush with all teams vying for the coveted win . It was a well fought competition with a nail biting finish where three teams were in the running for victory by the last question of the last round . Ultimately Srivatsa chandrashekar and Viha G R were declared winners, Harshini R and Shishir B Nuti were runners up and Shashanth Gowda N and Vanishri S K were placed in third. All the participants and winners were felicitated participant certificates and trophies respectively.
This was followed by refreshment for the members of the audience. It was indeed a feast of knowledge. The entire department of paediatrics worked as a well-coordinated team under the leadership of Dr. Purnima Samayam.
The winners Srivatsa chandrashekar and Viha G will represent BGS GIMS in the divisional level of 38th IAP Under graduate quiz, 2025.
This IAP Quiz of college round was a grand success that received excellent reception. It was a stimulating and academically enriching experience for the participants, audience and all the staff. Such events help to nurture the spirit of continuous learning among PGs, interns, students and all of us as well. We hope that this event heralds many more successful events to be held in the institution.
