The BGSGIMS-Research Institute aims to establish itself as one of India’s premier medical research institutions by prioritizing excellence in medical research and fostering innovation. We accomplish this by offering top-tier research training to future leaders in the medical field and translating research findings into clinical practices that improve patient health and promote social welfare.  

Mission

Our mission is to achieve our vision through:

  1. Conducting cutting-edge research in the fields of Biomedical and Molecular Medicine, generating innovative insights and sharing our findings through publications in leading international journals and at prominent conferences.  
  2. Executing high-impact clinical trials to gather evidence on the effectiveness of potential new therapies and ensure their safety for human use.
  3. Leveraging faculty expertise to support the success of national science and technology initiatives.
  4. Utilizing our extensive knowledge in diverse areas of medical sciences to create practical solutions and develop these insights for the benefit of society.

The BGSGIMS-Research Institute was established in 2013 with the blessings of the research visionary, revered  Sri Sri Dr. Prakashnath Swamiji, Managing Director of BGSGIMS. Since its inception, the institute has undergoing comprehensive expansion under the leadership of Dr. M.E. Mohan, Dean and Principal of BGSGIMS. The institute is committed to advancing medical research, focusing on original investigations to improve human health. In line with this mission, we design and execute biomedical, molecular medicine research and clinical trials as well.          

The research output of BGSGIMS-RI is diverse and interdisciplinary, surpassing traditional boundaries. We promote partnerships with various departments at BGSGIMS and collaborate with prestigious national and international research institutions and universities. Fostering a research mindset in medical students and emphasizing the significance of research-driven approaches in their professional practice.      

BGSGIMS-RI is equipped with modern research laboratories featuring state-of-the-art instruments and facilities. Our team includes highly qualified medical researchers and international scholars engaged in biomedical research and clinical trials. We are committed to enhancing core research capabilities across all areas of medical science, developing world-class research programs, promoting translational research, and supporting the incubation of successful start-ups. We will empower researchers from various disciplines to collaborate in tackling urgent medical challenges, while also continuing to host workshops, conferences, and training sessions. Moreover, we aim to adopt modern professional practices that align with international standards. As we advance toward our vision, we are committed to creating limitless research opportunities for medical students, innovators, teachers, and researchers. We remain committed to achieving excellence in science while fostering a culture of creativity and inclusivity that has always been a hallmark of the Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust.
