Brief report about the Program | The Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciences (BGS GIMS) in association with the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists & Leprologists – Karnataka Branch (IADVL KN) and Bangalore Dermatological Society (BDS) had organized a Dermatology Awareness Programme ARIVU & CHALO PATASHALA, a school health initiative to educate and create awareness about Skin, Hair & Nail health and to prevent Quackery on 29th November 2024. The programme was organized at BGS Public School, Kengeri where around 100 students from class 8 attended the programme with their teachers. The Teachers introduced the faculty of Department of Dermatology, and Dr. Sanjana A S, Professor & HOD gave an introductory speech regarding Dermatology and skin health. The session was handed over to Dr. Dheemant M, Senior Resident who gave a lecture for 1 hour about ARIVU & CHALO PATASHALA and its main motive in educating the school children and adolescents about skin health, skin, hair and nail diseases and how to prevent quackery. The session was followed with a question-and-answer session which went over 15min. All students and teachers enthusiastically participated in the session to clear their doubts. The programme was an interactive session and was well appreciated by all the students and teachers assembled there. We the faculty from Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy would like to thank the IADVL – KN & BDS for giving us this opportunity to conduct this programme. We also thank Dr. M E Mohan, Dean / Principal, BGSGIMS and Mrs. Deepa Rani, Principal, BGS Public School for allowing us to conduct this programme. |
