Brief report about the ProgramThe Department of Psychiatry conducted a CME on “Psychiatry – BeyondMedication and CBT” on 20 th September 2024 under the guidance of Dr. M .E. Mohan, Dean / Principal of BGSGIMS. Dr. Keertish N, Professor and Head ofDepartment of Psychiatry, welcomed all the delegates and introduced the theme ofthe CME. Dr. Somashekar Bijjal, President of IPS-KC and Dr. Mahesh Gowda,Director of Spandana Healthcare, graced the inaugural function. The distinguishedspeakers with years of expertise in their respective fields engaged the audience onvarious topics such as rTMS, EMDR, Art Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy,Virtual Reality Therapy and Suicide Prevention using Technology. All of thesessions were highly interactive with audience actively participating in thediscussions. Overall, the CME was successful in shedding light on some of the lesserknown/lesser practiced modalities of treatment in Psychiatry.
