CME on THE URTICARIA UPDATE: Frontiers in Diagnosis & Therapy, conducted by department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, 9th November 2025

With the blessings of His Divine Soul Jagadhguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, Jagadhguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Maha Swamiji, Revered Sri Sri Prakashnatha Swamiji and under the support of our Dean cum Principal of BGS GIMS, Dr. M.E Mohan and guidance of the Head of Department of Dermatology Venereology Leprosy, BGS GIMS, Dr.Sanjana A S, the CME programme was organised in association with Bangalore Dermatological Society (BDS) and Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists Leprosy (IADVL) Karnataka branch on 9th November 2025 in API Bhavan, Bengaluru between 9.00 AM to 4.30 PM with CME credit points of 1 hour by Karnataka Medical Council.

Totally 88 delegates had registered and gained with this CME and total 10 teams were registered for postgraduate quiz on urticaria.

The CME started with PG Quiz preliminary round followed by two informative talks by Dr.S.Sacchidanand and Dr. Sanjana A.S. These two sessions were chaired by Dr. Vidya T.S, Consultant dermatologist, Bengaluru and Dr. Aneesh.S, Professor& HOD, MVJ Medical College & Research Hospital, Bengaluru respectively.

The inauguration ceremony started by lighting the lamp and welcome note was given by Dr. Sanjana A.S., Professor & HOD, Department of Dermatology. Inaugural address was given by                       Dr. S. Sacchidanand, BDS President and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.Dheemant M, Senior Resident, Department of Dermatology.

Following the tea break, three talks were given by Dr. Manjunath Shenoy, Professor, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangaluru, Dr. Dharshini Sathishkumar, Professor, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore and Dr. Reena Rai, Professor& HOD, PSG institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Coimbatore and these sessions were chaired by Dr. T.K Sumathy, Senior Professor, Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, Dr. Rajeshwari Bhat, Professor, East Point Medical College, Bengaluruand Dr. Rajendra Okade, Senior Professor, BGS GIMS respectively. An elaborative Panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Krupa Shankar D.S, Consultant Dermatologist, Mallige Medical Centre, Bengaluru and the panelists were Dr. Manjunath Shenoy, Dr. Madhukara J, Professor, St.John’s Medical College, Bengaluru, Dr. Vijay Aithal, Professor, St.John’s Medical College, Bengaluruand Dr. Reena Rai.

Finally, the session ended up with Postgraduate Quiz conducted by Quiz master, Dr. Amrita A Hongal, Associate Professor, BMCRI and Dr. Rashmi K V, Assistant Professor, BMCRI.10 teams had registered and 4 teams were qualified for finals. The finalists were from Bangalore Medical College, Command hospital, Airforce, M.S Ramaiah Medical College and KIMS, Bangalore. First prize was secured by Bangalore Medical College students, Dr. Bharath & Dr. Prajna. Second place was secured by KIMS, Bangalore Dr. Soumya & Dr. Chinmayee.
