GUEST LECTURE ON “NEW APPROACHES IN DIAGNOSTICS THROUGH MOLECULAR METHODS”

On 24-05-2023, the Department of Microbiology, BGS GIMS conducted a Guest Lecture on the topic”
NEW APPROACHES IN DIAGNOSTICS THROUGH MOLECULAR METHODS”, under the guidance and motivation of the Dean, Dr. M. E. Mohan. This Guest Lecture was conducted in collaboration with Genomics Solutions / ManipalTRUtest. The Medical Superintendent of BGS GIMS hospital, Dr.Srikanth Kulkarni graced the occasion.

The Guest Speakers were:

1. Dr. Suraj Jain, Lab Head- ManipalTRUtest
2. Mr.Shivram, Director, Critical infection Aetiology at ManipalTRUtest.

The Guest Speakers were introduced by Dr. Ragini Ananth Kashid, Professor and HOD, Dept. of Microbiology, BGS GIMS. Dr. Suraj spoke about “Molecular methods in diagnosing life-threatening infections.”Mr. Shivram spoke about the study that ManipalTRUtest conducted in JIPMER, Pondicherry Both the talks were very informative and relevant.  It was attended by HODs, faculties and postgraduate students. There was good interaction between the audience and the speakers regarding the indications and applications of molecular diagnostics in infectious diseases. Dr. Swetha concluded the programme by giving the Vote of Thanks.
