Swasth Nari Sashakth Parivar Abhiyaan organised and conducted by Dept. of Community Medicine from 17th Sep to 02nd Oct 2025

Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan a nationwide health initiative was inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi that focused on improving health outcomes for women, adolescent girls and children. The Programme is part of the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative, an ambitious vision of the Government of India to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.

On the same note, the Abhiyaan was operationalized at BGS GIMS and routed through the Department of Community Medicine, BGSGIMS as directed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and National Medical Council. In view of this, various health camps and programmes were scheduled from 17/09/2025 to 02/10/25 focusing on Women and children including the adolescents.

The “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” at BGS GIMS started off with Inauguration by Dr. ME Mohan, Dean and Principal of BGS GIMS, Dr. Srikanth Kulkarni Medical Superintendent of BGS GIMS hospital and was planned and executed under the guidance of Dr. Jayashree S Seeri, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine. Dr. Ashwini G S, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine was designated as the Nodal officer for the execution, co-ordination and reporting of the programmes.

Various activities were scheduled and conducted in collaboration with different departments in the hospital, field practice areas of Dept. of Community Medicine, as well with SJBIT and BGS Global institute of Dental Sciences (BGS GIDS).
