CME and Workshop on Dissertation Synopsis Writing held on 20/01/2024

Under the guidance of Dean cum Principal, Dr. M E Mohan, a CME was organized by the Department of Community Medicine on 20th January 2024 for the 1st year post graduate students on ‘Dissertation synopsis writing’ at SJBIT Mini auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by
Dr. M E Mohan, Dean cum Principal, BGSGIMS, Bengaluru. Followed by the inauguration, the points on dissertation synopsis writing was crisply highlighted by Dr.Jayashree S Seeri, Professor and Head, Department of Community medicine, which included brief introduction, the steps, importance of literature review, methodology common queries from the university, Vancouver style of citation, disclosure of financial
implications involved and also formal way to seek an IEC approval. The next session on ‘Anatomy of synopsis writing and its importance’ was delivered by Dr Nirmala CJ, Associate professor, Department of Community medicine wherein a brief discussion was done on the proforma for
registration of subjects for dissertation. After a tea break, at around 11:00 AM, a workshop was held in lecture hall 3, Department
of Community Medicine, college building. All the 1st year post graduate students were divided into small groups where all the staffs keenly interacted with the groups and addressed their queries. The programme was successful and around 50 post graduate students were benefitted.
