Observation of World Hypertension Month

World hypertension month was observed on 27th May 2024 which was jointly organised by the Departments of General Medicine and Community Medicine in association with Medserve.

The activities included awareness drives in the form of rally, role play, distribution of information brochure.

The rally was flagged off by the Dean and principal Dr M E Mohan. Faculty and students of BGSGIMS participated in the rally which covered entire BGS SJB campus.

There was an awareness session to the patients and their attenders in the hospital lobby with talk by the Dean and the HOD of General Medicine Dr Mithun Somaiah. This was followed by an engaging “role play” by the Medserve initiative.

The occasion also included a full day free screening and treatment camp for hypertension with nearly 200 people benefiting from the camp.
